About Us

We provide homes for our residents in permanent and ‘short life’ properties, and also manage services for other co-operatives in Greater London and the South East region.

Co-op Homes aims to provide an excellent management service that meets our customers' needs and expectations whilst also delivering value for money. Our customers work with us so that we can continue to improve services for everyone.

We really want our residents to enjoy living in their homes, so please tell us if you are not happy with any of our services. We want customers to get involved in shaping current and future services through a range of participation opportunities. If this is something you are interested in we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Co-operative housing movement was established in England in 1974 to provide affordable rented accommodation for people who wished to help manage their homes and environment. Co-op Homes was founded in 1986 and has grown through offering professional management services to independent co-operatives and also by managing new developments built for us.

We also manage ‘short life’properties which are leased to us by local authorities and other landlords. These properties are rented out to tenants until the leases end, at which time we work with local authorities to try to re-house tenants elsewhere.

The majority of our properties are located in the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Ealing and Hillingdon but we also have some in Slough, Reading and East Anglia. Properties include purpose-built and refurbished flats and houses including homes for wheelchair users.

In December 2005 we joined the Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) Group. Based in South West London, RHP owns and manages nearly 8,500 properties in the London Boroughs of Richmond and Hounslow.

Co-op Homes is a registered social landlord with charitable status.

We are registered with the Tenant Services Authority (regulatory body which replaced the Housing Corporation in October 2008), a member of the National Housing Federation, a member of the Confederation of Co-operative Housing and a member of the London Federation of Housing Co-operatives.

We provide management services to more than 20 other cooperatives with over 1500 owned and managed properties.

A large proportion of Co-op Homes staff live in or have lived in housing Co-operatives themselves and can offer first-hand understanding of the Co-op Housing Sector.
